Core practice

Four areas I focus on

High-threshold, cross-border and complex matters — not a general “do-everything” practice.

⚖️

Criminal Defense (incl. foreign nationals)

Cross-border telecom fraud, “assisting information-network crime”, concealing criminal proceeds, illegal border crossing, cross-border cybercrime, offences by foreigners in China, bail applications, detention-center visits and self-defense claims.

🛂

Chinese Nationality Law & Exit-Entry

Chinese Travel Document (旅行证) applications and renewals, dual and triple nationality determinations, the “choose at 18” myth, renouncing and restoring Chinese nationality, China permanent residence (the “five-star card”), overseas-Chinese university admission, exit-entry procedures and penalty remedies, and defense in illegal border-crossing cases.

🏢

Company Law & Shareholder Disputes

Corporate governance and shareholder disputes, capital contribution and dividend conflicts, shareholder status and nominee holdings, deadlock, dissolution and liquidation, foreign-related commercial and contract disputes, compliance and executive crime.

🌐

Cross-Border M&A

Cross-border acquisitions, legal due diligence, deal structuring and SPA negotiation, foreign-investment access and outbound (ODI) filing, merger-control notification, closing and post-deal integration, and trade compliance.

Key topic

The Chinese Travel Document (旅行证)

The PRC Travel Document (中华人民共和国旅行证) is the passport substitute China issues to children born abroad who hold a foreign nationality by birth but are also Chinese. It is usually valid for two years, can be renewed again and again — including after 18 — and is the document to use for entering China, hukou, school and banking. Refused renewals after a Chinese visa, consulates that can’t confirm nationality, and custody disputes are where families most often need help.
